Abandoned Lot
The former parking lot at old Saddle Cove was abandoned by the sinking Lake Mead reservoir, along with an adjacent boat ramp far from the present shoreline. I photographed my recycled sculptural forms alongside the aging creosote growing through the cracks, emerging from their roots under the pavement. In early 2024 the lot was marked for “demolition of outdated infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience” by the National Park System, as site signage stated.
